Planning a Marquee Function?

What you’ll need to think about…

What date will my function be?
How many people do I want to shelter?
Will the marquee site be safe and sheltered from strong winds?
Will guests be standing or sitting?
Will I be using long tables or round tables?
What size tables will I use? What type of chair will I use?
Will I have the catering area in the marquee or will I have a separate area for the catering? Will I need a chiller trailer?
Will I need a dance floor or platform area?
Will I require any floor covering eg. matting?
Will the marquee area have adequate area for pegging down into the earth?

Will the layout provide suitable and safe exits for guests?
What kind of lighting will I need?
Will the electricity supply be adequate and safe?
Will the heating be appropriate and safe for the venue. Note that gas and diesel heaters require good ventilation and cannot be close to marquee walls or the roof area.
Will toilet facilities be adequate and easily accessible for the number of guests? Will I require portaloos?
How will I decorate the marquee?
Will I need a Council permit? (Permits required for marquees over 100SqM)
